Three ways to learn

Your place, theirs, or online.

Pick what fits your week. You can change it any time, and many families mix all three.

In your home

Your teacher comes to you, same day and time each week. No drive, no waiting room, no car-line shuffle. Kids learn on the instrument they actually practice on.

The Stage Pass standard

Great players are easy to find. Great teachers aren't.

Every teacher on our roster has to be both. Here's what it takes before anyone teaches your family.

  • A working musician and a proven teacherThey gig, record, direct or perform, and they can explain what they know to a seven-year-old and a fifty-year-old.
  • Auditioned by AlexEvery teacher plays for and talks with our founder before anything else happens.
  • An observed demo lessonWe watch them teach a real student before they teach yours. Playing well is not enough.
  • Background-checked and referencedCriminal background check and national sex-offender registry search, plus professional references, before a first lesson.
  • Held to our lesson standardA goal for every student, a practice plan after every lesson, and progress check-ins with parents.

How it works

Four steps from “maybe” to first lesson.

Start step one
  1. 01

    Tell us about the student

Two minutes online, or a quick call. Instrument, age, experience, goals, where you'd like lessons and when you're free. This is how we find the right person, not just the closest one.

    2 minutes
  2. 02

    We hand-pick your teacher

A coordinator calls you, usually the same day, for a 15-minute talk about goals, schedule and the right plan. Then we choose the teacher for the instrument, the style, the age and the personality. No scrolling through profiles.

    Within 1 business day
  3. 03

    Enroll in minutes

Pick a monthly membership or a prepaid lesson pack, e-sign the family agreement, and pay for your first month or pack. We introduce your teacher by text and email with a short bio.

    Same day
  4. 04

    Your first lesson

Your teacher gets to know the student and sets the first goals. Then it's the same teacher, same time each week, with a practice plan after every lesson. Not a great fit? We rematch you free or refund you in full.

    Usually within a week
Simple, published pricing

No registration fee. No long contracts.

You'll know the price before you ever talk to us. Pay monthly as a membership, or prepay a lesson pack and save up to 10%.

Love your first lesson, or your money back.

If the first lesson with your teacher isn't a great fit, tell us within 48 hours. We'll rematch you with a different teacher at no charge, or refund everything you've paid. Your choice. Your teacher still gets paid for their time; we cover it. That's how sure we are about who we send you.

Student showcases

From the living room to a real stage.

No recital in a fluorescent gym. When students are ready, we put them on stage at real Atlanta music venues, with real sound, real lights and their families in the crowd. Playing for people is part of learning music. It's also the night kids talk about for years.

Questions

The things parents ask first.

Still wondering about something? Our coordinators are real people who know music.

How do you choose your teachers?

Every teacher is a working musician who can also teach. Alex auditions each one personally, we watch them teach a real demo lesson, check references, and run a criminal background check and national sex-offender registry search before they meet a student. See our full teacher standard.

What if we don't click with our teacher?

Tell us. If your first lesson isn't a great fit, we'll match you with someone else at no charge, or refund everything you've paid. After that, you can ask for a different teacher any time.

Does a parent need to be home for in-home lessons?

Yes. For any student under 18, a parent, guardian or trusted adult must be home for the whole lesson. Teachers are glad to have you listen in.

How much do lessons cost?

In-home lessons start at $55 for 30 minutes, studio lessons at $50 and online at $45. Pay monthly as a membership, or prepay a 10- or 20-lesson pack and save up to 10%. No registration fee. See all prices.

Which parts of Atlanta do you cover?

In-home lessons cover Sandy Springs, Dunwoody, Brookhaven, Buckhead, Roswell, Alpharetta, Johns Creek and East Cobb, with Intown Atlanta and Decatur opening as our roster grows. Studio and online lessons are available across the metro. Check your area.

Can adults take lessons?

Absolutely. Adults are some of our favorite students: first-timers, people coming back after twenty years, and experienced players who want to get unstuck. Lessons for adults.

Ready when you are.

Tell us who's learning and what they want to play. A coordinator will call within one business day with a teacher in mind.

For music teachers
