Basement drum kit? Living-room piano? We come to both.

One teacher, one standing weekly time, and lessons wherever they work best for your family: the basement, the living room, a teacher's studio nearby, or online.

Dunwoody is mostly neighborhoods: tree-lined streets off Chamblee Dunwoody Road and Mount Vernon Road, Dunwoody Village in the middle, and the offices and apartments of Perimeter Center along I-285. Weekday afternoons around Perimeter Center are slow going, and that's exactly when lessons happen. A teacher who lives nearby skips the worst of it and starts on time.

If your house has a basement or bonus room, it's the natural place for a drum kit, an amp or a keyboard, somewhere practice doesn't compete with homework at the kitchen table. In the townhomes and apartments closer to Perimeter Center, an electronic kit or digital piano with headphones works just as well, and your teacher can teach on either.

Drums in the basement

An acoustic kit in the basement is a classic first setup. Your teacher can help you position it, tune it and tame the volume with mesh heads or low-volume cymbals, then teach right there on the kit your student practices on all week.

Dunwoody High and Peachtree Charter Middle

Band and orchestra students at Dunwoody High School and Peachtree Charter Middle School (DeKalb County School District) can bring their school music to lessons. Your teacher can help with chair placements and GMEA District Honor Band and All-State auditions.

Same teacher, same time

Our Perimeter teachers live in or near the area, so a Dunwoody lesson doesn't depend on anyone crossing the Top End of I-285 at rush hour. That's what makes a fixed weekly time realistic.

Questions

Lessons in Dunwoody, answered.

All areas
Do you teach in Dunwoody apartments and townhomes?

Yes. Guitar, voice, violin and other quieter instruments fit any space, and a digital piano or electronic drum kit lets you practice at headphone volume. A parent or guardian needs to be home for students under 18.

My child just started band at Peachtree Charter Middle. Is it too early for private lessons?

No, the first year is a great time to start. A private teacher can sort out embouchure, hand position or stick grip before habits set in, which makes rehearsal easier and more fun. Tell us the instrument and we'll match a teacher who plays it.

What if our teacher is sick or can't make it?

Teacher cancellations are always made up or credited. Often the easiest fix is moving that week's lesson online with the same teacher, so your student doesn't lose the week.

Ready when you are.

Tell us who's learning and what they want to play. A coordinator will call within one business day with a teacher in mind.
