School calendars are the other puzzle. Brookhaven students attend Cross Keys High School, Chamblee Charter High School, Chamblee Middle and Sequoyah Middle in the DeKalb County School District, and others go to private schools like Marist School, Our Lady of the Assumption and St. Martin in the Fields. When siblings run on different schedules, a lesson at home is the one appointment that doesn't need the car.

New townhomes and apartments rarely have room for an upright. A digital piano with 88 weighted keys and a sustain pedal fits against one wall, plays at headphone volume, and is the right start for most students anyway.
Between the ball field and dinner
Spring evenings in Brookhaven often mean the ball fields at Murphey Candler Park. With a teacher who comes to the house, a lesson can fit between practice and dinner without one more drive.

We live in a Brookhaven townhome. Can my child still learn piano?
Yes. A digital piano with 88 weighted keys and a sustain pedal is a great start and lets your child practice with headphones. Your teacher can teach on it at home, and if you ever want lessons on an acoustic piano, a studio lesson is an easy switch.
Do you teach students from Marist and other private schools?
Yes. We teach students from any school, public or private. Share your school calendar when you sign up, and your coordinator will set a lesson time that works around early dismissals and breaks that don't line up with the DeKalb calendar.
Can we take lessons at the teacher's studio instead of at home?
Yes, and studio lessons cost a little less than in-home. Students under 16 need a parent or guardian on site or nearby, as arranged with your coordinator. You can also switch between studio, home and online as your weeks change.
