Why adults learn with Stage Pass

No judgment, ever

Every adult beginner worries they'll be the worst student their teacher has seen. You won't be. Our teachers love teaching adults.

Built around your schedule

Early mornings, lunch breaks, evenings and weekends. Mix in-home, studio and online as your weeks change.

Goals you choose

Play at a friend's wedding, accompany your kids, join a church band, finally learn that song, or simply have something that's yours.

Serious about it? Us too.

Advanced players get teachers who gig and record: improvisation, theory, session skills, songwriting and performance coaching.

How it grows

What lessons look like over time.

  1. 01

    Start where you are

Your first lesson is a conversation and a starting point. Total beginner or rusty former player, your teacher meets you there.

  2. 02

    Get to real music fast

Adults learn faster than they think. Most beginners are playing simple versions of real songs within the first few weeks.

  3. 03

    Keep it in your life

Practice plans that fit 15 minutes a day, and goals that keep it fun. Join a showcase if you'd like. No pressure if you wouldn't.

In your home

Your teacher comes to you, same day and time each week. No drive, no waiting room, no car-line shuffle. Kids learn on the instrument they actually practice on.

Questions

What adults ask us.

Love your first lesson, or your money back.

If the first lesson with your teacher isn't a great fit, tell us within 48 hours. We'll rematch you with a different teacher at no charge, or refund everything you've paid. Your choice. Your teacher still gets paid for their time; we cover it. That's how sure we are about who we send you.

Am I too old to learn an instrument?

No. Adults learn differently from kids, not worse. You understand practice, you know what music you love, and you can focus. There is no upper age limit here.

I played as a kid. Will I have to start over?

Rarely. More comes back than you expect. Your teacher will find your level quickly and skip what you already know.

Can I do lessons online during my lunch break?

Yes. Many adults mix online lessons on busy weeks with in-person lessons when they can. It's the same teacher either way.

Do adults take part in showcases?

If they want to. Some of the best moments at a showcase are adults playing for an audience for the first time. It's always optional.

Can I take lessons with my child?

Yes. Back-to-back lessons for a parent and child (or a joint lesson on the same instrument) are popular, and additional students in the same household get 10% off.

Ready when you are.

Tell us who's learning and what they want to play. A coordinator will call within one business day with a teacher in mind.
