Getting started
How do I get started?
Fill out the two-minute match form. A coordinator contacts you within one business day, talks through goals and schedule, and hand-picks your teacher. You choose a plan and enroll, and we introduce your teacher before the first lesson.
What ages do you teach?
From about age 4 through adults of any age. The right starting age depends on the instrument; your coordinator will give you an honest recommendation.
Which instruments do you teach?
Guitar, piano, voice, drums, bass, violin, viola, cello, ukulele, saxophone, flute, clarinet, trumpet, trombone, banjo, mandolin, songwriting, music production and music theory. See all lessons. Something else? Ask us.
How fast can lessons start?
We aim to have your first lesson on the calendar within a week, depending on instrument, area and schedule.
Do I need my own instrument?
For in-home lessons, yes, though it doesn't need to be fancy. Not sure what to buy or rent? Ask before you spend anything; your teacher can help you choose.
Teachers & safety
Who are your teachers?
Working musicians who are also proven teachers. Each is auditioned by our founder, observed teaching a demo lesson, referenced, and background-checked. More about our teachers.
Are teachers background-checked?
Yes. Every teacher passes a criminal background check and national sex-offender registry search before meeting a student, rechecked annually. Safety standards.
Does a parent need to be home?
Yes, for any student under 18, a parent, guardian or trusted adult must be home for the entire lesson.
Can I switch teachers?
Any time, for any reason, at no charge.
Pricing & billing
How much are lessons?
In-home from $55, at a teacher's studio from $50, online from $45 per 30-minute lesson. Full pricing.
Is there a registration fee or contract?
No registration fee and no long-term contract. Memberships are month to month with 30 days' notice; lesson packs never renew automatically.
When do I pay?
In advance. When you enroll you pay your first month (prorated) or the full price of a lesson pack; memberships then renew on the 1st. If the first lesson isn't a great fit, we rematch you free or refund everything you've paid.
What does monthly tuition cover?
Four lessons' worth each month, covering 48 lessons a year. We break for the week of July 4, Thanksgiving week, two weeks over Christmas and New Year's.
Do you offer sibling discounts?
Yes, 10% off each additional student in the same household.

30, 45 or 60 minutes. Most young beginners start with 30, teens and adults usually take 45, and advanced students often take 60.
What if we miss a lesson?
With 24 hours' notice you get a make-up. Last-minute sickness? Switch to online up to 2 hours before. Late cancellations and no-shows are charged, with one "life happens" pass per semester. Lesson policies.
Do you have recitals?
Better: showcases at real Atlanta music venues, with real sound and lights. Always optional.
