- Music Instructor (All Instruments)
Music instructor jobs in Atlanta: Musicians: steady teaching work between gigs.
If you're a working musician in Atlanta, private teaching should pay like a gig and fit around your gigs. We take care of finding students, scheduling and billing; you teach what you play, on your schedule. Ukulele, banjo, mandolin, songwriting, music production and theory teachers welcome too.
The job
- Type
- Independent contractor (1099), part-time, your own schedule
- Location
- Metro Atlanta: students' homes inside the radius you choose, your own studio, or online
- Pay
- $52–72 per teaching hour, paid every Friday by direct deposit
- Also paid
- Late cancellations and no-shows, every first lesson, and a paid audition demo lesson
- Students
- We find them, schedule them and bill them. You never pay for a lead.
Who we're looking for
- Any instrument or subject we teach, including songwriting, production and theory
- Training or serious professional experience
- Patience with beginners, and a plan for every student
- A life in music right now: gigging, touring, recording, church
What you'll teach
- Kids, teens and adults at every level
- In students' homes inside your radius, at your own studio, or online
- Weekly lessons, same time each week, with a short practice note after each one
- As many or as few students as you want
What we ask
- An audition and interview with our founder
- An observed demo lesson (we pay you $25 for it)
- Two professional references
- Our teacher agreement and code of conduct, signed online
- Your own liability insurance for in-home and studio lessons (online-only teachers don't need it)
- A W-9, and you must be 18 or older
No non-compete with your own students, your gigs or other teaching work. The one limit protects families we introduce to you; it's all in plain English in the teacher agreement.
